Student Development is a concept developed to assist companies develop their own Virtual Coach modules.

• Student Development is particularly appropriate where:
  • A company wants to develop lots of modules in a short space of time.
  • A company does not have any available staff to develop the modules themselves.
  • A company wants the benefits of Virtual Coach training but is unsure whether they have the computer skills.
• How it works...
  • In essence - the Student Development program involves connecting students who have computer skills with companies wanting someone to help them develop their modules.
  • Students (those with good computer skills, ideally with experience in editing video etc) provide an email contact on the website. They provide a brief profile of the skills they have and the industries they are keen or prepared to work in.
  • Companies wanting to develop their own modules can then make contact with a student developer. They agree on an hourly rate (being students and having relatively low set-up costs the hourly rate may be highly competitive).
  • The company then loans the student the Virtual Coach Developer software they have purchased. Yes - there is a way this can be done in the licence management process.
  • The company can work out whether the student does everything i.e. the videoing, editing, voice over and assessments, or whether the company provides the voice over etc. Tip: Companies may even consider hiring a student developer able to speak in languages required by the workplace.

The basis of the program is the win-win relationship between the company and its staff – the company invests in each staff member's career and in turn the staff member invests his or her own time.

Occasionally some developers may require someone to assist in converting their digital video content into compressed video files appropriate for Virtual Coach.

• While many video cameras and computers come with this functionality the service is available via The Training Market also.
• Developers can send cassette tapes (digital or analogue) in most formats to The Training Market. The video footage will be compressed and transferred onto CD and returned.
• Fees for this service are available on request, please send us an email.
• Fee excludes storage media (eg CD’s), handling, packaging and courier fees.

Some companies may prefer to leave the development of the material to someone else.

Some companies may wish to add branding and imagery to the Virtual Coach interface.

• The latest release of Virtual Coach Developer provides the ability to customise the desktop for each module. You can create your own desktop backgrounds or just simply drop in a still photo (that relates to the module).
• In addition to customising the desktop you can also add links and buttons to the desktop. These can be easily programmed to launch video clips, still images, URLs, and pdf documents...in fact any file you want almost!

• One licence term is available - 60 month (5 years) application licence for one computer. The licence comes with:
  • The ability to create unlimited modules.
  • The ability to make modules available for free or for a fee. Note: A Virtual Coach Player licence will be required by all module users.
  • A help demo built into Virtual Coach Developer. Help is also provided via the website and phone if required.
  • The fee is discounted if purchased via The Training Market automated process. An additional fee of $15 may be charged for all non automated transactions.
  • The licence fee excludes the lease or purchase price of Virtual Coach modules produced by third party providers and developers.
  • The Training Assistant Full or Lite versions are available at a discounted fee if purchased with Virtual Coach Developer.
  • Includes support materials (Downloadable Templates, Clipsheets, Clapper Sheets, Module Development Guide).
  • Includes access to all patches and upgrades at no additional charge (except postage and handling where applicable).
